Planning and urban design consultancy Turley Associates, acting on behalf of Redrow Homes, has secured a resolution to grant planning permission for up to 70 dwellings including 25 affordable homes in Tattenhall, Chester, Cheshire.
The Strategic Planning Committee of Chester West and Chester resolved to grant outline planning permission for the site, situated to the rear of Harding Avenue before Christmas but the application was referred to the Secretary of State to consider whether he wished to hold a public inquiry into the proposals. However, the Secretary of State has now confirmed that he does not wish to interfere and the Council can grant planning permission for the scheme. The application was one of a number of housing proposals for Tattenhall promoted by house builders but is the only application which has successfully secured the support from the Council. The scheme would provide a mix of two, three, four and five bedroom family homes.
Victoria Murray, Head of Land and Planning for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “We are delighted with this decision. There is a real need for new and affordable homes in Tattenhall which is not being currently met.”
Sam Ryan, a director in the Manchester office of Turley Associates said “This is good decision for Redrow, particularly given that the Council has refused planning permission for all of the other competing housing proposals in Tattenhall and all these are being considered at a joint public inquiry. The scheme will provide high quality homes, open space and will assist in sustaining existing facilities in the settlement.”
Over the past 12 months Turley Associates have secured planning permissions for Redrow to deliver over 500 dwellings, supporting the company’s commitment to develop new market and affordable housing across the North West region.
