As a key development area a masterplan led planning and masterplanning strategy was agreed with Bristol City Council. We advised on the overall planning strategy and masterplanning advice and helped to coordinate the preparation and submission of a hybrid planning application.
Throughout the development process we worked closely with the City Council and other key consultees, including CABE, English Heritage and local stakeholders. Due to the high profile of the development, this process was managed through entering into one of the first planning process agreements with the City Council, an approach that is now regarded as best practice.
The approach helped to secure the early delivery of a hybrid planning application that secured both full and outline permission for different elements of the scheme. This permission was achieved within a very tight timescale that was necessary to secure a major anchor tenant.
The development is currently under construction and we continue to provide advice to Castlemore's administrators regarding compliance with planning conditions, on-going public engagement and the renewal of permissions at Temple Quay.
