The newly titled Planning Policy Statement 12 (PPS12) ‘Local Spatial Planning’ was published by Communities and Local Government (CLG) on 4 June 2008.  It accompanies amendments to the 2004 Regulations, as well as a new online ‘Plan Making Manual’ produced by CLG and delivered via the Planning Advisory Service website.

PPS12 goes into depth about local spatial planning, the benefit to communities and key government policies.  It is envisaged that it will play an integral role in place shaping and in the delivery of land uses and associated activities.
