DALLINGTON GRANGE CONSORTIUM

Significant, allocated sustainable urban extension site (220ha/544ac), situated on the north-western side of Northampton, on behalf of Persimmon Homes (Midlands), David Wilson Homes and the Althorp Estate.

Turley Associates’ Role:

  • Lead urban design consultant for the proposal which is allocated to provide over 2,500 homes, with mixed-land uses and stand alone employment, significant open space provision and educational facilities
  • Inception of a Vision for the site to deliver the aspirations of the client
  • Masterplanning proposal for the site to meet the vision of the Local Authority and the client and improve housing number yield to in excess of 2,500 homes
  • Production of illustrative strategies and design narrative to describe and explain the proposal through a three stage stakeholder orientation/public exhibition process
  • Preparation and production of supporting Outline Application documentation, including the Design and Access Statements and Parameter Design material to inform the EIA Process

Results:

  • Close liaison between Northampton Borough Council, West Northamptonshire Development Corporation and the client team to produce an appropriate development proposal
  • Scheme is on-going at present and has been submitted for Outline Planning Permission
