Sandtoft Roof Tiles

We were appointed to prepare and submit the planning application and to project manage the Environmental Impact Assessment for the extraction of clay from 83 ha of agricultural land near the Humber Estuary SPA. The clay is to be fed directly into the factory for the manufacture of clay roof tiles.

Location: Broomfleet Tileries, Broomfleet, Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire
Status: Planning permission secured
Size: 83ha of clay extraction with incidental sand from extension area to the south of existing workings
Scale: 50-60 years worth of additional production reserve for the existing factory on which to base further investment

Planning permission was granted subject to 21 planning conditions including the implementation of a Management Scheme that had been negotiated with Natural England and the RSPB.
