The project seeks to redevelop surplus and under-used docklands and is based upon a partnership approach to achieving sustainable regeneration in the wider area.
We assembled a specialist team including architects, transport, environmental, culture/leisure, heritage and socio-economic experts.
Progress to date on the strategy and framework includes production of a baseline study, draft vision and development framework, a series of delivery strategies and contributions to emerging planning policies.
Progress to date on individual projects includes gaining planning permission for phases and submission of the East Float planning application in December 2009, which was the largest planning application in the British Isles.
The partnership approach to Wirral Waters has involved close working with Wirral Council (including a number of 'working groups' set up specifically for Wirral Waters) and a number of local, regional and national bodies, including Government Office, the North West Regional Development Agency, CABE, HCA, English Heritage and the Environment Agency.
Our role included the drafting of the successful Expression of Interest for growth point status, in partnership with Wirral and Liverpool Councils.
